OSS Connect is a free web platform (takeonesmallstep.org) where your patrons can sign up to have a meaningful recorded conversation with a person who has a different perspective. Here's how it works:
Patrons sign up and share basic information about their views, interests, and a short bio. They browse potential conversation partners and maintain control over the matching process. Once matched, they schedule a one-on-one conversation. (Your library can serve as a venue option for these conversations.) Participants can choose to archive their recordings -audio only- with StoryCorps and the Library of Congress.
Many participants enjoy the experience so much they become OSS Connect Leaders who have multiple conversations!
