Chuan Huang, PhD
Chuan Huang, Ph.D. currently is an Associate Professor in Radiology and Psychiatry (with Tenure), Director of PET/MR Clinical Research at Stony Brook Medicine.
Before joining Stony Brook, Dr. Huang was an Instructor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School and an Assistant in Physics at Massachusetts General Hospital. He earned his doctoral degree in Mathematics (minor in Optical Sciences) on Medical Imaging at The University of Arizona. His research focused on image analysis/reconstruction and parametric MRI.
In 2012, Dr. Chuan Huang extended his research interest into simultaneous PET-MR. In 2013, one year after extending his research into PET-MR, Dr. Huang was awarded Honorable Mention in the Young Investigator Award Symposium of the SNMMI annual meeting. He received the same award in 2014 SNMMI annual meeting. In 2016, he received Young Investigator Award of Brain & Behavior Research Foundation. Dr. Huang was selected as Distinguished Reviewer for Magnetic Resonance Imaging from 2014 to 2019 and Distinguished Reviewer for Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging for 2016 and 2017. He also received Outstanding Reviewer Award for Physics in Medicine and Biology in 2017 where only 50 reviewers in total received this award. He received the same award from Biological Psychiatry in 2018. In 2020, Dr. Huang received the faculty Award from Parkinson's Foundation in 2020.
