Evaluation

Evaluation

Your grade on the project will be determined by

1. Instructor’s evaluation of the project as a team (75%) and

2. Anonymous evaluation of your contribution to the project by your team-mates (25%).

Instructor-evaluation (75% weight)

The instructor’s evaluation of project will use following rubric:

        1. Satisfaction of all the rules and design constraints as stated above
        2. Usefulness or novelty of the motion – does the motion arouse interest in its viewers? Is it satisfying? Does it do something useful?
        3. Design and Construction of the machine – how well the machine is designed and constructed? Does it easily fall apart or is built robustly?
        4. Cleverness and uniqueness of the design – is the mechanism and machine used to produce the motion a sophisticated one?
        5. Documentation submitted
        6. Extra credit: Judges’ discretion – robots that truly impress judges will score a few extra points.
