Who Am I?

My name is Kyra Alvarado. I am 22 years old and live in a town called South Setauket, which is located on Long Island in New York.

I currently attend Stony Brook University as a commuter student studying Business Management. I enrolled in Spring 2021 as a transfer and have so far maintained an 'A' average in all of my courses. As of right now, I am not involved in any curricular activities as a safety precaution due to the global pandemic. However, next school year I plan on participating in the Photography Club and Women's Lacrosse club. Photography has become an incredible outlet for me, allowing me to go on adventures with new experiences to capture beautiful photos to display my creative artistic self. Due to classes now being remote, I have put further efforts to create a professional relationship with my professors that I can consider a mentor of some sort within my desired field to assist in my growth as a student of business.

After graduating from Ward Melville Senior High School in 2017, I attended Suffolk County Community College because I was unsure what path I was interested in pursing. My second year, I realized how important it was for me to pursue a career that would allow me to use my creative skills. I found that Interior Design would be the perfect balance of creativity and logic. Since then, I have been putting my best effort in the courses I've taken thus far, while searching for an internship with a company in Interior Design.

Outside of my life as a student, I am also a person who enjoys exploring new places and creating exciting memories with the people important to me. I am truly lucky these past two years to be working at a company that allows me to take time off to go on these adventures. I am a brand ambassador at Aerie, where capturing photos that include the brand and posting them to social media is a crucial component. Thus, allowing me to work while also traveling to new places.
