Welcome to my digital portfolio! I'm a senior at Stony Brook University currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in psychology with the hopes of becoming a mental health counselor. Before starting my academic journey at Stony Brook I attended Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA). At NOVA, I worked diligently to excel in my studies and graduated with a final GPA of 3.72. This achievement allowed me to set a solid foundation for my continued success at Stony Brook, where I have pursued my passion for psychology and the veteran community.
My goal is to provide mental health care that is tailored specifically to our veteran community, ensuring they receive the support and understanding that they deserve and so desperately need. As a combat veteran, I understand the unique challenges that come with such a title. My own experiences and struggles not only allow an empathetic perspective, but it also creates a deeper connection with other veterans that most providers may not be able to offer.
This portfolio is a reflection of my journey, aspirations, and the work I'm passionate about. In addition to highlight my academic and professional achievements, it also shows my dedication to supporting combat veterans on their path to healing. I want to convey the importance of mental health care tailored specifically for veterans, informed by both clinical expertise and firsthand experience.
throughout my portfolio you will find a collection of my past and present work experience, academic accomplishments and interests. You’ll also discover insights into my personal journey as a veteran, what motivates me, and how these experiences have shaped my approach to counseling.
Whether you’re a fellow student, a potential collaborator, or just someone who is interested in mental health, I hope this portfolio gives you valuable insights and encourage meaningful connections.
