What are the Mangrove forests? 

Mangrove forests are coastal ecosystems found in tropical and subtropical regions, made up of salt-tolerant trees and shrubs known as mangroves. These forests grow along shorelines, riverbanks, and estuaries, where the land meets the sea. Mangroves have unique root systems, like prop roots and pneumatophores (aerial roots), that allow them to thrive in muddy, saline, and oxygen-poor soils.
