In 1819 the first fossil fuel was found. People have been using fossil fuels for many years and for many purposes, such as producing heat and electricity. However, fossil fuels are not as good as they seem to be. They release large amounts of harmful gases into the atmosphere, which leads to air pollution, water pollution, and climate change.
Fossil fuels are non-renewable resources that were created before the human era. Fossil fuels are the buried remains of plants and animals that were extinct 65 million years ago. Today fossil fuels are used mainly as a source of energy. Fossil fuels are used almost everywhere. We use them for heating buildings, producing electricity, and powering engines.
There are many types of fossil fuels known today. These include coal, natural gases, and oil. Today, many industrial companies are focused on mining those energy sources. According to the statistic, nearly 84% of the total energy comes from oil, gases, and coal.

The usage of fossil fuels has a lot of positive effects on people’s lives. Today we have electricity, heat, and gas that help us in everyday life. However, in reality, it does more harm than good. Burning fossil fuels releases large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and other harmful gasses.
Today, this causes a lot of problems for our environment, for example, air pollution, water pollution, and climate change; these things are seriously affecting global warming.
