Global warming is a phenomenon in which the Earth's average temperature gradually rises, mainly due to the greenhouse effect.
The atmosphere prevents heat from escaping from the Earth's surface into space and keeps the surface temperature relatively high, which is called the greenhouse effect. If there's no atmosphere, the solar energy that's reached the surface of the earth will just drain into space and not maintain the temperature at which life can exist. However, if the greenhouse effect is severe, the Earth's temperature will rise too high, causing harm to lives and nature on Earth. The gases causing the greenhouse effect are called greenhouse gases, which include carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, Freon gas, and ozone, of which carbon dioxide has the most significant impact on the greenhouse effect.
Greenhouse gas emissions have soared in recent years. This is due to the indiscriminate development of resources caused by industrialization, which destroyed tropical forests and increased fossil fuel use, and as a result, global warming has reached a serious point.
Over the past 100 years, the average temperature of the Earth has risen by about 0.74 ℃. Compared to the increase of about 1 ℃ over the past 10,000 years, the increasing trend is very high. In addition, in the 20th century, sea levels rose by about 10 to 25 centimeters, and since 1950, icebergs in the northern hemisphere have decreased by about 10 to 15 percent. If sea levels continue to rise like this, flooding of seawater can cause a lot of damage in countries with densely populated coastal areas like Bangladesh, and some island countries in the South Pacific will disappear completely. Rising sea levels can also contaminate the water used by billions of people.
Phenomenon Of Global Warming
Rising earth's temperature due to global warming causes disasters.
-Drought
-Forest fire
-Heat wave
Melting glaciers due to global warming raise Earth's sea level and cause abnormal precipitation.
-Flood
-Heavy rain
As the temperature of the Arctic rises, the jet stream around the Arctic weakens, causing cold waves to move south.
-Cold wave
-Heavy snow
Natural changes caused by disasters destroy the ecosystem of living things and make them extinct.
