According to an analysis of global air quality by the World Health Organization (WHO), 99% of the world's population breathes air that does not meet health standards.
The WHO surveyed air quality in 117 countries and more than 6,000 cities and said that the concentration of ultrafine dust (PM2.5), fine dust (PM10), and nitrogen dioxide exceeded the level of air pollution designated by the World Health Organization's 2021 Air Quality Guidelines. The survey was based on air quality data collected by satellites, mathematical models, and ground measurements, and the survey revealed that people around the world are still drinking fine dust and nitrogen dioxide at levels that seriously affect their health.
