Volunteering and Other Opportunities

Community Service is an important graduation requirement for all students at SHS.  Students will serve a minimum of 10 hours per school year for a total of 40 hours before graduation.  Students are encouraged to reach out to local organizations they are interested in supporting to see how they can be of help to them.  Below is a list of local organizations that willingly accept student volunteers throughout the year but we encourage them to reach out to others of interest.  When specific opportunities become available through our Stonington schools, our community center (COMO), and our Human Service department, our Career Center advisor, Mr. Brown, sends a email to all students giving them the opportunity to participate and sign up.
