We're using Discord in several different ways and you're invited to join in the conversation.
#needs - We share needs that we (or others) have. Discord helps us quickly find resources, available volunteers, or raise funds in a crisis.
#praises - We share life and lift up praises for things happening in our lives.
#sermon-reactions - If something really strikes us, we post our thoughts or a quote from the lesson to keep His word on our hearts.
#welcome - When someone joins on Discord, this channel is where we see those and say, "Hello!"
#announcements - We keep everyone updated on what's happening. Anyone can make an announcement here or after our services IRL.
Notifications. You can control which channels you want to be notified about. By default, they're all on, but within each channel, you can silence those so you only see the new messages when you click on that channel, rather than being buzzed about it.
Respecting Privacy. Don't post someone else's personal information without their permission, such as their email address, phone number or address.
Protect Our Kids. Since you can directly message or "friend" a user, always include a child's parent if ever messaging a youth. Or better yet, only send messages to the youth group through their "channel" instead of direct messages.
Before and after services, look up at the projector screen for a slide about Discord. Scan the QR code to join.
