How did I learn about STEM?

I first became of STEM, or more accurately STEAM, when I was middle school. My school promoted a "STEAM Week", where each day we would focus on a specific area by building a project exhibiting its meaning or something similar. For example, Monday was science, Tuesday was technology, etc. At the time, I was unaware of the impact STEAM subject areas have on people everyday.

As I transitioned into high school, I had a sister who also would be completing the SR STEM CP, and saw how she was able to engage and dive deeper in subjects that is just not possible during the school year. I was fascinated with technology and science, but knew I was good at math, and therefore struggled with the subject area I felt like I had to focus on. I then became aware that I did not have to narrow my interests, but could engage in all subject areas that interested me. I was then able to attend interesting conferences on various topics, have an internship encompassing many fields, and tutor my peers that were struggling in STEM fields.
