The rise of the black panther party began in late 1966 in response to increasing police brutality within the recently slow-moving Civil Rights Movement and local black communities. Widely depicted as violent-armed protesters by the media, debate over their tactics and ideology soon took place between the BPP(Black Panther Party), law enforcement, and the white public. Due to the failure of “good faith” diplomacy between the United States government and the BPP, the organization slowly faded yet their image however continued to change throughout their years, ultimately aiding Black Power to flourish, making room for future black revolutionary organizations to be established such as BLM(Black Lives Matter).
