Curriculum Updates: 

Ms. Allen Helmer:

Math:  We are currently working on our 2nd Unit: adding and subtracting decimal numbers and practicing the estimation of decimal numbers. 

Science: We are currently in the middle of the Matter Unit. We are discussing how matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. We completed exploring how we can observe, measure, and model matter. We are now taking a closer at the properties of matter and how matter can change states. 

Ms. Fitzgerald:

ELA:  We have launched our foundational unit using Rob Buyea's novel, Because of Mr. Terupt. We will use this beloved novel to study how authors use literary elements to create stories as well as practice our reading and writing skills.

SS: We are working on being able to distinguish between the three different colonial regions--New England colonies, Middle Colonies, and Southern colonies.
