What does a school social worker do?
School social workers serve as a link between school, home and community. The school social work profession focuses on helping the student achieve academic achievement and social, emotional and behavioral competence by coordinating with the school, the family life and the community.
School social workers seek ensure equitable education opportunities; ensure that students are mentally, physically and emotionally present in the classroom; and promote respect and dignity for ALL students.
