Organized by Luis Talamantes, the Stockton Scholastic Mariachi Festival took center stage at the Cesar Chavez High School football stadium on May 19th, 2023.
Mariachi from Fremont-Lopez Elementary, Huerta Elementary, Ripona Elementary, Peyton Elementary, Edison High School, Cesar Chavez High School, San Jaoquin Delta College, UC Davis, and the Univeristy of the Pacific performed that Friday. Special performances by Mariachi Alma Tapatia and Mariachi Mi Tierra Linda were the sugar on top of an amazing festival.
All photos above were taken by Maleah Perez.
The Graphic Design Program led by Patti Rivera designed T-Shirts to commemorate the festival.
Dave Qualls and students from his Stagecraft Technology Program engineered all the live sound, assembled and disassembled the stage, and then performed the photography and videography of the event. These were the artists behind the scenes to make sure the Mariachi were seen and heard by all in attendance.
The Multimedia Program led by George Brais was responsible for the post-editing and publishing of media from the event.
Note: If you were a school in attendance and would like to request any additional media of your Mariachi, including video footage of performance and/or photographs, please send your request to gbrais@stocktonusd.net.
