Position Overview

The Office of Residential Life is looking for Graduate Coordinators for the Fall 2022-Spring 2023 Academic Year. Position Descriptions

The Graduate Coordinators for the Office of Residential Life, under the supervision of their immediate supervisor and the Director of Residential Education and Student Services will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervise and assess Resident Assistants (RAs) of an assigned complex and oversee the needs of 200-600 residents

  • Work closely with your supervisor by responding to student needs and concerns

  • Coordinate the residence life curriculum for the Office of Residential Life

  • Complete weekly reports; keep accurate information of all residents/residential spaces including room ready status, work orders, rounds reports, programming reports, and other department documents

  • Maintain strong and on-going communication with resident students, RA staff, and supervisor

  • Manage monthly health and safety inspections and quarterly fire drills with your supervisor

  • Attend weekly department meetings, Resident Assistant meetings, and individual meetings with supervisor

  • Be accessible, visible, and present throughout the semester and especially during all check-in and check-out

  • Facilitate all staff trainings and Resident Assistant Training sessions including the Resident Assistant Leadership Course, the Resident Assistant Retreat, Orientation, and more

  • Assist with the opening and closing of facilities for each semester

  • Facilitate biweekly Resident Assistant one-on-one meetings

  • Assist with the Resident Assistant selection process

  • Adjudicate violations of the Code of Conduct to uphold community safety standards

  • Establish 20 office hours weekly (At least 15 hours between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

  • Resides in on-campus housing and serves as the professional staff member on duty for evening, weekend, and holiday on-call emergency response rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned; weekend and evening supervision required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 2.5 semester & cumulative GPA

  • Candidates must be accepted at Stockton University as a matriculated full-time Graduate student by May 1, 2022

  • Candidates must be enrolled at Stockton University as a matriculated full-time Graduate student during the time of employment

  • Bachelor’s degree with prior experience that demonstrates an understanding of residential life, leadership, and student development

  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, enthusiasm, flexibility, organization, and self-motivation

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to complete projects

  • Candidates must have an active Driver's License

  • No current code of conduct violations or existing sanctions for the current Academic Year

    • Any student who has been suspended from the University must have attended a full semester after their suspension before applying

    • Past code of conduct violations will be considered during the hiring process

  • Able to attend and facilitate all training sessions

  • Complete & submit Graduate Coordinator Application

  • Submit cover letter & resume

  • Complete a background check


Compensation

  • $2,000 Summer 2022

  • $4,000 Fall 2022

  • $4,000 Spring 2023

  • $2,000 Summer 2023

  • University-owned on-campus housing inclusive during term of employment

  • $2,000 Osprey flex funds (unrestricted) per year, $1,000 in the fall, and $1,000 in the spring semester
