Grading

Students in K-3 will be assessed each trimester using the 1-4 scale on Option C. Grades 4-8 will receive a letter grade in Art. Artwork is graded using a rubric. Each project is unique. Typically, I look for these things when assessing art: ability to follow directions, craftsmanship, technique/use of materials, composition (arrangement of elements and principles), creativity, and effort. Project grades are recorded on Option C. Late work will result in a 5 point loss per week it is late.
