Some papers, projects, and presentations will require evidence from outside sources like articles. In order to make your evidence stronger, you may want to embed direct quotes from the work. This means that you will use an exact quotation from the original source in your work.
The most common way to introduce or embed is to write:
The author says, "quotation" (in text citation).
The author writes, "quotation" (in text citation).
The author states, "quotation" (in text citation).
