From 1974-2004 at least 20,000 Biochemical Substances have been found from marine creatures. These substances have very unique properties, allowing scientists to dig through what they do and how. We have only mapped 5% of the ocean, with the vast majority of it being entirely unknown. Because of this, there is a need to explore more, and we wish to use a submarine to map the seafloor to find habitats with creatures and plants. With this information, we can safely extract samples of substances to help Scientists experiment and have breakthroughs in their work.Â
We found this topic particularly interesting because it's a real world problem that can be tested on a much smaller scale while still being able to find solutions.
