Our Experiment
In our experiment, we are testing to see how different amounts of salinity affect different types of plants.
We will have two freshwater plants and one saltwater plant. One of the freshwater plants will be placed in water containing its natural salt level. This will serve as our base experiment. The other freshwater plant will be placed in a flask containing high amounts of saline water. The saltwater plant will be placed in a flask containing lower to no amount of salinity than its natural level. We will track the growth of each plant and take pictures to observe if the color of the plants change.
Facts to Support our Experiment
Freshwater generally contains about less than 1% of salinity while saltwater contains about 33-37%
All plants need some salt to survive but large amounts can affect its oxygen intake.
When saltwater is poured on a freshwater plant with soil the plants absorbs it like freshwater.
