How did we get the materials?
Our facilitor Mr. Capone, ordered our robot parts off the internet. These parts included the motors, the wires, and most importantly the control system. We also worked with Mr. Capone to find and order a good bamboo for the structure of the robot. For our motors we had to get creative as we had nothing to connnect them to. Thats why we used water bottles as it was easy to connect to the bamboo, and was easy to connect the motors to.
What were the first steps?
Our first step was to make measurements for our robot. After that we had to cut the bamboo into the measurements we had made, only there was one problem. The bamboo just kept snapping. It was very hard to cut the bamboo, because of how easily they would snap, so eventually we ran out of bamboo. That is why we switched to bamboo based wood. Bamboo based wood was much eaiser to cut, and didn't snap. We were quickly to cut out all of our wood pieces.
How did you put it together?
We put it together using hot glue. We made a box structure using the wood, and then put in our motors, controlling system, and camera. We attached our motors to little plastic water bottles, as it suprisingly fit well. Finally, we glued up all the little holes so water couldnt get into the holes.
