Our Project:
Our project is an eco friendly diver robot. Our robot will be used for deep sea exploration. Our robot utilizes a complicated motor system that is able to be controlled, and includes multiple other uses such as telling the tempurature.
The Problem:
We recently learned that most underwater robots are made from PVC pipes which are not great for the environment. We want to find a material to make our robot out of that is better for the environment because we want to make sure our oceans are as healthy as possible. So we had to research, and find a durable, cheap, and environmentally friendly material.
The solution:
After doing extensive research, we figured out bamboo would be the best material. This is because bamboo is very eco friendly, is strong, and lasts a long time in water. Due to certain circumstances we had to switch our material from bamboo, to wood based bamboo. We get more into that in the "Production" section.
