Proposal:
Our original plan was to make an extremely small 3d printed prototype of a Wave energy generator that utilizes magnets and wires coiled along a pathway that the magnet is moved through with wave power creating energy.
Our final product is still miniature but bigger than our first prototype we kept the same design but we stretched out the 3d model to 3d print.
Project Questions and Research:
Q1: What are the main advantages and challenges of using wave energy generators for renewable energy production?
Q2: How do wave erngy generators work to convert wave motion into electricity?
Wave energy generators turn ocean waves into electricity, which is a renewable energy source. This means we won't run out of waves like we could with oil. They also help reduce air pollution compared to fossil fuels. However, creating these gerntaors in the ocean can cost tons of money. Additionally, storms can damage them and they might affect sea animals and their homes.
Wave energy generators take the movement of ocean waves, which go up and down or back and forth This motion is used to turn a turbine, kind of like how wind turns windmills. As the turbine spins, it powers a generator. The generator then changes the movement into electricity tat can be used anywhere.
