As we draw a close to our study and look over all of our research, findings, and studies, we have been able to draw conclusions about what is currently happening in our oceans, but also ways that we can prevent future harm to the ocean if a event like this was to ever happen again.
From our research and study, we were able to deduce that the current quantity of debris entering the ocean poses a serious threat to the future of many marine lives and ecosystems due to the fact that the pH levels of the water near the sea floor are dangerously low and unsafe for marine life. On the topic of the ocean saftey for humans to swim in though, we cannot make a concrete statement on if the ocean is safe to swim in or not as it can vary from spot to spot.
The ocean is a large, vast quantity of water resulting in many of the materials entering it getting diluted and others not, so the level of harm is not consistent. If we were to make a decision though based on our opinions, we would say that the ocean is currently unsafe to be swimming in due to the uncertainty. What we do know thought is that the best case in limiting the negative affects on the ocean is to continue to clear burnt coastal homes and fire debris as soon as possible.
