Essential Question: What kinds of circumstances push people to create new inventions?
Over the next three - four weeks, our class will build their knowledge about inventors, with a focus on the informational text genre. We will read texts and view videos about how people can create amazing things through innovation, perseverance, and the desire to solve problems. Children will also write an expository essay about the circumstances that pushed the inventors in this module to create new inventions.

Module Project - Due 9/15
Students will write an expository essay to respond to the prompt below. Students will work on the essay each day in class. As long as students use their time well, they will not need to spend much (if at all) time working on the essay at home
Prompt: Think about the inventors and inventions you read about in this module. What motivated the inventors to create something new? What impact did their inventions have on their lives and on the lives of others? Write an expository essay of the circumstances that pushed the inventors to create new inventions. Use evidence from the module selections to support your expository essay.
