How to get to the conference venue
From Budapest Airport we recommend the shuttle service Travel4You https://travel4you.hu/en
1. From Pécs Railway Station (Pécs Pályaudvar)
The Pécs Railway Station (Indóház tér 1, 7622) is located south of the city center.
Walking:
Feasibility: Walking is not recommended from the Railway Station to Jurisics Miklós utca. It's a long, uphill journey covering a significant distance.
Estimated time: Approximately 40-50 minutes (around 3-3.5 km) with considerable elevation gain.
Bus:
This is the most recommended public transport option.
How: From the bus stops directly in front of the Railway Station (Pécs Pályaudvar), you'll need to take a bus that goes towards the city center or directly towards the Mecsek-oldal (hillside) area where Jurisics utca is located.
Recommended lines:
§ Bus 34Y, 35Y, 36: These lines travel from the Railway Station up towards the Mecsek-oldal. The closest stop to the venue would be "MTA Székház". This stop is right at the venue.
Travel time: Approximately 15-20 minutes by bus, depending on traffic. More about bus schedule: https://mobilitas.biokom.hu/menetrend
Tickets: Purchase tickets in advance from kiosks (Relay, Trafik), or online, or directly from the driver (usually at a higher price). Validate your ticket upon boarding. A 24-hour or 72-hour travel pass might be economical for multiple journeys.

Taxi:
Feasibility: Convenient and direct.
Estimated time: Approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
Cost: Around 2,500 - 3,500 HUF. Taxis are readily available at the station.
2. From Pécs Downtown (e.g., Széchenyi tér)
Széchenyi tér is the main square in Pécs city center.
Walking:
Feasibility: Walking is possible, but be aware that it's a significant uphill climb from the city center to Jurisics utca. For those who enjoy walking and don't mind an incline, it offers nice views.
Estimated time: Approximately 15-25 minutes, depending on your exact starting point and pace.
Bus:
This is a convenient and highly recommended option from the city center.
How: From various stops around the city center (e.g., Vásárcsarnok, Kórház tér, Barbakán), you can catch buses heading uphill towards the Mecsek-oldal.
More about ticket options:

Taxi:
Feasibility: Quick and easy, especially if you prefer to avoid the uphill walk or bus.
Estimated time: Approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic.
Cost: Around 1,500 - 2,500 HUF. Taxis are readily available in the city center.
Taxi Companies: Reliable local taxi companies include Taxi Pécs (72/222-222) or Pécs Taxi (72/444-444). It's often best to call a company or use an app rather than hailing one on the street, especially outside the main squares.
Address: Always have the full address of the venue (MTA PAB Székház, 7624 Pécs, Jurisics Miklós u. 44) ready for taxi drivers or when asking for directions.
Currency: Ensure you have Hungarian Forints (HUF) for bus tickets and taxis (though some taxis accept card payments).
As an alternative, use the BOLT app.
ABOUT Pécs, HUNGARY
The history of Pécs dates back over 2000 years, and the name of the old Roman town, "Sopianae" is still found in the names of institutions and products. The downtown is a unique mixture of the relics of Early Christianity, the arrival of the Hungarians, the Turkish reign and the achievements of modern architecture and arts. The University of Pécs, with its 24,000 students, over 5,500 international students, 1,800 lecturers and researchers, and 10 faculties, is one of Hungary's largest higher education institutions and the centre of knowledge within the Transdanubian region.
