EXTRA CREDIT AND REDOs

* Extra Credit will be offered periodically throughout the year.   I give extra credit as extra credit questions on tests and occasional homework problems. Individual projects are not assigned for extra credit.

* All homework/classwork resubmitted for a higher grade must be done on a clean piece of paper STAPLED TO THE ORIGINAL, unless otherwise announced. To get credit, the resubmitted work must be correct. 

* Tests and quizzes may NOT be retaken. 

* All homework/classwork resubmitted no later than 5 days before the end of the quarter for credit. 

LATE ASSIGNMENTS

An assignment deemed late will incur a penalty for every day it is late, up to a maximum of five days. Any assignments over five days late will receive a '0' in the grade book. Students with multiple late assignments will complete assignments during lunch recess. Late assignments may be redone; however, they will receive the original score, not the redo score. Late assignments turned in habitually within a quarter will result in a lunch detention.

Saint Mary’s School uses an online program to record grades. You may view your child’s grades at any time through the online portal. If you need assistance, please contact the office.

RULES/DISCIPLINE

Classroom rules are as follows:

1.  Be Respectful 2.  Be Responsible 3.  Be Reverent

• If the rules are not followed, there will be consequences depending on the severity of the situation. Consequences include, but not limited to:

  • Verbal Warning.

  • Lunch detention.

  • Office referral 

  • 30-minute detention before or after school.

ABSENCES

Absences greatly affect grades.  Please carefully consider this when scheduling vacations and doctor’s appointments.  According to the school handbook, two days are allowed for every day absent to complete all the work missed.  If work is not made up in the allotted time, late rules apply.  All missed tests must be made up after school, before school, during lunch recess, or during study hall.  Students must schedule appointments with me to take make-up tests and quizzes. Please refer to the parent/student handbook as well.
