All About Your Teacher:

My name is Mrs. Katie Weinstock. I have been teaching in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia since 2002. I attended Catholic School starting in Kindergarten at Sacred Heart in Havertown, and graduating from Cardinal O'Hara High School in 1998. I continued my Catholic education at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania where I received the Early Childhood Educator Scholarship and was nominated for Student Teacher of the Year. I graduated with honors with a dual major in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 2002. I hold a Pennsylvania State Teacher Certificate which applies to all grades from Nursery School through Sixth Grade.

Upon graduation, I began to seek employment in the schools that helped to nurture me for all those years: the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Before coming to SMM in 2020, I taught for 18 years at Holy Cross in Springfield at several grade levels: PreK, Kindergarten, Third, Fifth and Sixth Grades.

My free time is devoted to my family; my husband TJ, our two boys, Jake (13 yrs old) and Ryan (11 yrs old,) and my four-year-old Goldendoodle, Rosie! We spend much of our summers at the shore, on the beaches of North Wildwood, with my extended family. I love traveling with my family and seeing the world!

My Expectations:

Academic: In my classroom, my students will be introduced to their curriculum in new and innovative ways. We will use our SmartBoard daily, interactive websites and programs to enhance the learning process, and engage ourselves in hands-on lessons in all areas of learning.

Behavior: I expect each student to adhere to the teachings of our Church and School, and present themselves each and every day in a Christian way. We are first, and foremost, a Catholic School, and I expect all of my students to reflect this in their thoughts and actions.

Finally, I believe that each student has the potential to succeed in an environment where they feel appreciated, loved, and respected. My hope is that each student feels that way when they leave my classroom at the end of each day! I expect each student to treat each other in the same way; with love, respect, and kindness.
