Hi all! My name is Mrs. Falk, and I am so excited to be back for another great year of making music with your children!
I've always loved music, and started in band when I was in 5th grade. I took clarinet for two years before realizing that it was not the right instrument for me. I switched to flute in the 7th grade, and have loved it ever since! I graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and have taught private lessons periodically over the past 20 years.
This summer, I've had a blast playing music with my family on all the instruments, road tripping to state parks and to the Cincinnati Zoo, and just hanging out together and enjoying the fact that we all get summers home together.
In addition to music, I also have a passion for board games. I have more than 800 games in my basement! I love reading rule books and occasionally even proofread them, or playtest the games themselves before they're published. You can find my name in half a dozen rulebooks!
You probably already know my husband, Mr Falk, who teaches junior high math here at SMV. My two sons, Max and Elliott also play. Elliott is in the SMV band, and Max is in his first year at Catholic Memorial, and is enjoying their concert band and jazz band.
We had such a great year last year, and I am very much looking forward to building on that. I already have some music picked out and am working on getting my new classroom in order. I can't wait to get back into it!
