...and neither are our language skills! We'll be diving into the world of Ancient Rome and learning about how one of the world's most widely spoken languages in the ancient world, became the mother language of over 1 billion people today!
Students will be learning about Roman mythology, and the origins of Latin, as well as the influence of Latin into our Catholic faith. They'll also learn many prayers in Latin and how the Church uses Latin both in and outside of the Mass.
I always strive to ensure that students in my classroom feel heard, safe, empowered, encouraged, and respected.
I'm excited to be exploring this course with both 7th and 8th graders this school year. Language learning is a fantastic way to grow academically and expand upon existing knowledge since so much of our spoken language also includes Latin roots.
Roman architecture still stands today in many parts of Europe, and its influence stretches even wider. I have been incredibly fortunate to see some of these remaining structures in my travels!
