6th M&Ms

In this assignment we were assigned to count, chart, and graph the number of M&Ms in our 1.69 ounce bag. First thing, we counted our bag of M&Ms and then wrote down how many colors were in the bag on a paper. After doing that, we made a spreadsheet on Google Sheets. Then I titled my spreadsheet "Zola's M&Ms". I wrote down the numbers of all the different colored M&Ms. The next step was for my classmates to write their numbers next to their name. Following that, I made four charts under the spreadsheet. The four charts consisted of two pie charts and two bar charts. One pie chart for the class and one pie chart for my M&Ms, then the same thing with the bar charts. My colors were four red, ten yellow, eleven orange, seven green, eight brown, and seventeen blue. My estimates for the colors were five red, three yellow, two orange, four green, five brown, and three blue. I believe my M&Ms were produced in Hackettstown, NJ, because the amount of different M&Ms they produced were similar to my calculations their percentages of the M&Ms produced there are 25% blue, 25% orange, 12.5% green, 12.5% yellow, 12.5% red, 12.5% brown, and mine are 29.8% blue, 19.3% orange, 12.3% green, 7.0% red, 17.5% yellow, and 14.0% brown. I think the most difficult part of this assignment was coding the totals because I couldn't understand the directions very well at first. I thought there would only be twenty-something M&Ms in the bag, because it didn't look like much at first but when I counted them there were fifty-seven in the bag. I thought this assignment was easy, at first it was a little difficult for me because the directions didn't really make any sense to me. Once I got going they made more sense. My chart shows the percentages and the class percentages. My favorite M&Ms are the milk chocolate flavored ones because they are simple, they taste good, and their colorful looks are appealing to me.
