Meet Mrs. Varela

I love teaching PreK-4 because the students have so much wonder. I believe children learn best through discovery and fun while in a comfortable, nurturing environment where they feel safe, secure and valued. Keeping Christ at the forefront of our lives and education is fundamental to fostering their spiritual, academic, and emotional growth. With a partnership of parents and teachers working together, we create a positive atmosphere for each student to grow with the Gospel messages. I truly believe this greatly enhances a child's success in the classroom. All children deserve a school that challenges them to develop as life-long learners with self-respect, self-confidence, self-discipline, and a love of God.

I have lived in the Kingwood area since 1979 and am a graduate of Kingwood High School. My family has been members of St. Martha Catholic Church since that time. I received my Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em!) and my Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. I am a Texas Certified teacher in EC-6, and this will be my 8th year teaching PreK-4. I have been married to my wonderful husband (who is an Aggie!!) for 28 years and have two sons, both of whom graduated from St. Martha Catholic School. Our oldest graduated from Texas A&M in College Station in May, and the youngest attends The University of Texas at Austin.

Yes, we are another generation of a House Divided!

I cannot wait to watch your child learn and grow in Christ this year!
