St. Martha Catholic School Toilet Training Guidelines
The following information outlines the expectations of our Pre-K students, with regard to toilet training readiness at the beginning of the school year in August.
SMCS Mighty, Tiny Crusaders:
Do not wear pull-ups, not even during nap time.
Are able to push down and pull up shorts/lower garments and underpants.
Are fully capable of wiping #1 and #2 until clean. Teachers will verbally coach through the process IF a Tiny Crusader needs help.
Those who have two, or more accidents in a week (during nap time for two consecutive weeks) may not be ready for our school.
Can indicate (verbally/sign language) to teachers that they need to use the toilet.
A Tiny Crusader who is playing and sitting/standing in their own waste, two or more times a week, might not be ready for school.
Crusaders may need to wait patiently for their turn to use the toilet. Sometimes this may take a few minutes while other students have a turn.
Can change their own clothes in the event of a potty accident.
