Frequently Asked Questions

What about Birthdays?

I love having the opportunity to share your child's birthday with them!! I will do all that I can to make their day as special as possible! Because of the growing number of food allergies we see in young children today, I ask that any treats you send in be nut free. This follows the guidelines of the SMG Wellness Policy that was adopted by our school in the past. Please contact me a couple of days ahead of time if you would like to send treats in for your child's special day. Refrigeration is available. Since time is always a factor, I ask that treats be sent pre-cut and ready to serve if possible.

Here are some ideas....

Yogurt Parfait Bars, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Muffins, Bagels with All-Fruit or Cream Cheese, Graham Crackers with Marshmallow Cream, Granola Bars, Apples with Dip, Pretzels, Fruit Skewers, Veggies and Dip, Fruit Popsicles, Smoothies, Cheese and Crackers, 100% juice or Sparkling Water, And of course - Your Child's Favorite!

** Thank you for your consideration and cooperation in helping to keep our students healthy!!**

Do you have a wishlist?

Thanks for asking. Some items we could use in the classroom:

Extra snacks for classroom (nut free), Short Picture Books on CD, Any 2nd Grade appropriate books!

What if we are going to be on vacation and miss school?

Bring me! If you would like work ahead of time, I am happy to give you what I have. I will only send things that will be marked in the grade book. Any tests can be made up upon your child's return.

My student is ill and can't come to school today. What should I do?

If your student is too sick to come to school, don't worry about making a special trip to pick up homework. I will catch them up when they return. However, if you do want work sent home, please let me or the office know when you notify us of the absence. I can leave it in the office or send it with a sibling.
