Violin at SMOS is an optional elective for students in PreK through Middle School. Parents pay Ms. Betsy directly for these group lessons at the beginning of each semester (Fall/Spring). PreK through Elementary school students have violin on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school day. Middle School students meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We work primarily in the Suzuki Method, and start to branch out into note reading and other music in 4th and 5th grade. Group lessons are held in my classroom, and are typically divided up by homerooms.
Group lessons are a wonderful way for students to learn how to play the violin. Students will have the chance to perform in their yearly school music concert.
