Robotics Club Explores Medical Technology
St. Louis Catholic School’s Robotics Club visited St. Francis Hospital in Memphis on April 10, 2025, to discover how robotics is transforming the medical field. Students had the opportunity to test surgical simulators like the da Vinci Surgical System, MAKO robotic-arm, and Mazor X spinal guidance system, seeing how these tools help surgeons perform precise, minimally invasive procedures. Guided by medical professionals, the students learned how technology and innovation work together to improve patient care and inspire future careers in science, engineering, and medicine.
Exploring the Wonders of Plants and Pollinators
Students enjoyed a wonderful field trip to the Botanic Gardens, where they explored the fascinating world of plants and pollinators. They created their own plant models, dressed their teacher as a flower, and planted their very own sprouts. The hands-on activities made learning about nature fun and memorable, inspiring curiosity and a love for science.
“The students were great and asked good questions. They all thought it was really cool that as Packaging Engineers, we get to drop things, and if they happen to break we don’t get in trouble, but then we also have to figure out how to package them so they don’t get broken.”

Packaging Project Engineer
Exploring Cells and Creativity at MoSH
"The Memphis Pink Palace Museum was proud to be a community partner with St. Louis Catholic School. The St. Louis students attended a class at the museum" Microscopes and Cells" and toured our "It's a Small World" exhibit on Microscopes and Cells in the museum. They then designed a new exhibit for us. Three educators from the museum came to judge the projects and we were so impressed with their knowledge and creativity. It was so hard to decide on a winner in each category because they were all excellent projects. We would love to continue our partnership with St. Louis. It was a truly memorable experience for both the museum and the school."

Inspiring Future Architects
“I had the pleasure of meeting a large group of well-behaved St. Louis students to show them examples of our firm’s work around the city. I explained how architectural designs help shape the community, how an architect approaches his/her work, the process he/she goes through to create their designs, and the fulfillment our profession brings to those involved. My goal was to get them thinking about whether or not they might have the skill set and desire to one day pursue a career path in architecture.”
