Welcome to P.E. 2023- 2024

Hello!  My name is Terry Dillon and I am very excited about starting my sixth year at St. Linus. The 2023-2024 year will be as fun, enjoyable, and physically challenging as in years past. 

I earned a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Roosevelt University, a Master of Science Degree in International Commerce and Policy from Valparaiso University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. In addition, I am endorsed to teach middle school, physical education, science, and social studies. 

I am also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Youth Exercise Specialist.  

Prior to joining the St. Linus family, I taught 7th and 8th-grade science and 7th-grade religion at St. Cletus School in La Grange and 6th-grade science at Arbor Park Middle School in Oak Forest. I enjoyed working with the staff at both schools and the time spent developing and implementing their religion and science curriculums.  I chose to move from science to physical education because as an educator it is important to experience all levels of student development.  At each grade level students acquire different skills and teachers learn to become better leaders, communicators, and role models. 

I was born and raised in Canada's capital, Ottawa, and have lived in the Chicagoland area for the past 20 years. My wife, Dana, is a middle school math teacher and we have two beautiful children, Jack and Kate, who are both competitive swimmers. We also have a very active nine-year-old Chocolate Lab by the name of Wally.  As a family, we enjoy watching the Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, and Bulls.  I am a big hockey fan and have a hard time getting away from the TV during the NHL season. I also love to read, exercise, and stay up to date with world events. 

 I'm looking forward to a great year with the staff and students at St. Linus!
