The first session of the Synod of Bishops will begin on October 4, 2023 at the Vatican. The document titled, Instrumentum Laboris will form the basis for discernment and discussion among participants and the Holy See, is not intended as a conclusive summary, but rather is a text that opens and invites further, more focused, discernment to arrive at specific steps that will promote a more synodal Church for the future.

Please keep Fr. Lou Meiman, the St. Frances of Rome and St. Leonard Parish Council members and staff in your prayers this weekend. They are gathering together for the 2nd Annual Joint Parish Council Leadership Retreat on Saturday, September 16th at the Epiphany Lighthouse here in Louisville, KY.
Holy Spirit guide this process,
Fill (our pastor -Fr. Lou Meiman, our Parish Councils and staff) Bishops with the courage to safeguard the faith,
Turn the hearts of all Parishioners towards greater compassion,
Enlighten the minds of all to the Truth of Christ’s unchanging teachings.
Holy Spirit show us the way,
Protect the Church that Christ founded for the salvation of all,
Draw everyone to Christ and let no one lead the Church astray,
Open the hearts of all to the Truths of Christ’s unchanging teachings.
Amen
Fr. Lou Meiman, SL staff and the St. Leonard Homecoming Committee wish to extend a HUGE Thank You to all those who volunteered with set up, take down, those who worked the event, those who attended and/or anyone who supported last weekend's SL Homecoming Picnic. Fun was enjoyed by everyone in attendance. The food and band were outstanding!
Plus, a big note of appreciation to Allison Gousha, SL Homecoming Picnic Chair, and her committee for all their hard work. Committee members were Teresa Riggs, Fran Mastropaolo, Joe Sexton, Allison Deaton and Steve King. Additional thanks to Immaculata Classical Academy for running the kids games and helping with setup on Saturday morning, and to St Leonard's Scout Troop who helped run the parking lot and cleanup on Sunday morning.

Our world is hurting. We all need healing, yet many of us are separated from the very source of our strength. Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You!
I beg pardon for those who do not believe, nor adore, nor hope, nor love You.
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly.
I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world
in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended.
And, through the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of sinners. Amen.
