The Scrip Gift Cards & Rewards program is fundraising while you shop. It is free money for you and it is free money for St. Jude. You raise money by purchasing gift cards for your own personal use or to be given as gifts.

How does the program work?

St Jude has gift cards available for you to purchase. You pay face value for the gift cards but St Jude purchased the gift cards at a discount. The discount (the difference between what St Jude paid for the card and what you bought it for) is split between you and St. Jude.

For example:

  1. St Jude pays $95 for a $100 gift card to Giant, a 5 percent discount.

  2. You pay St Jude $100 for a $100 Giant card.

  3. The $5 savings is split evenly between you and St Jude.

If you buy $100 in groceries every week, over a 6 month period you will spend $2,600. If you paid for your groceries with St Jude's Giant gift cards, your purchases will earn $130!
Split 50/50, you earn a $65 reward and St. Jude receives a $65 donation. Keep in mind, that $130 doesn’t include the rewards you would earn purchasing other cards, such as Home Depot or Lowe's with a 4% discount, Gap & Old Navy with a 14% discount, as well as Amazon, Target and Walmart. The rewards add up if you use scrip gift cards for all of your shopping!

There are over 750 retailers available and the discounts are upwards of 16%. They go even higher during bonus periods. Look for the monthly newsletter in the parish's Thursday email and the school's weekly News Blast.

How do you get your rewards?

Rewards accumulate for six months and are sent out twice a year. You can elect to apply your reward in the following ways:

  • Tuition for St Jude School, the PREP program, or any high school or college. Don't have a child in school? Put your rewards toward tuition for your grandchild or a friend.

  • Donation to the school, PREP program, or your favorite parish ministry. This is tax deductible.

  • Voucher for future purchases of scrip gift cards.

Rewards are earned over six month periods. The earning periods are November 1 through April 30 and May 1 through October 31. Rewards are distributed in November and May.

You must earn a minimum total of $50 to receive your 50% reward ($25 for you and $25 for the parish). If you haven't met your minimum, your reward will be carried over into the next earning period.

How can you purchase gift cards?

  1. Rectory: You can buy physical gift cards in the Rectory office, Mon-Thur 9am-3:30pm and Fri 9am-11:30pm.

  2. Church/Narthex: You can buy physical gift cards in the Narthex (Lobby) of the Church after the Saturday Vigil Mass and after Sunday's Masses.

  3. Paper Special Order Form: Special orders for physical gift cards that are not usually carried in the Rectory (Scrip Store) are typically placed twice a month with more frequent dates during the holidays. All orders and payments are due online or in the Rectory or School by 9:00 am on the order date. Cards should be available for pick up in the Rectory by the Friday after the due date. You will receive an email when the cards are ready for pickup. For school families, you may place an order for any available cards and if there is a Waiver of Liability on file, the cards can be sent home with your child;

  4. RaiseRight app or RaiseRight.com: You can use the new online app called RaiseRight. Download it from the Apple App store or Google Play. RaiseRight is a mobile wallet for your eGift cards. You can place all your orders for both eGift cards and/or physical gift cards through the RaiseRight app. Your eGift cards will be available immediately in the RaiseRight wallet. Purchase your eGift card while you are in the store or restaurant. When you go to pay, show the cashier the eGift card, most retailers can scan the card and you are on your way.

Physical gift cards ordered in the app will be available for pickup or delivery* by the Friday after the Special Order Due dates. Check the Home page for the order dates.

    * For school families, you may place an order for any available cards and if there is a Waiver of Liability form on file, the cards can be sent home with your child.

How can you pay for your gift cards?

There are three methods of payments, cash or checks are the only method accepted for the Rectory or paper orders:

  1. Bank Account: This is the recommended method for online purchases. Setup an ACH payment through RaiseRight where you attach your bank account to your ShopWithScrip/RaiseRight account. Once you set this up, your eGift cards will be available immediately in the app's Wallet. There is a $ .15 fee for each transaction.

  2. Pay Coordinator Directly (Cash or Check): If you select "Pay Coordinator Directly" when placing an online order, you will need to send your check or cash to the Rectory office or School office. You will receive your eGift cards when the Scrip Store receives your payment and releases your order. Note: Cash or check is the only method accepted in the Rectory or with paper orders.

  3. Credit Card (online only): You can use a credit card to make purchases. There is a transaction fee of 2.6%. This is only recommended if the discount is over 6%.

What are the Program policies and guidelines?

  1. All paper orders must be accompanied by cash, check, or money order made payable to St. Jude Church.

  2. If your check is returned because of non-sufficient funds (NSF), you will be charged the face value of the order, plus a $30.00 NSF fee.

  3. Gift cards are purchased on your behalf and are not returnable.

  4. When you receive your order, verify its accuracy. In the unlikely event you should find a discrepancy, please contact the Scrip coordinator immediately at scrip@stjudeschool.com.

  5. Scrip cards are the same as cash and should be handled accordingly. St. Jude Parish will not be responsible for gift cards that are lost, stolen or damaged.

  7. You are responsible for understanding the retailer usage guidelines for all gift cards you purchase.

  8. A minimum combined reward of $50.00 (before 50/50 split) must be reached during an earning period. If the minimum is not met, the reward will be rolled over to the next earning period.
