Mrs. Ortega

Hi! I'm Mrs. Ortega and this is my first year teaching! I'm incredibly excited and blessed to have reached this point in my career.

I'm a West Chester Univeristy Alumni. I graduated with a B.A in Middle Grades: 4th-8th with a mathematic area of concentration.

Teaching is something that I'm incredibly passiontate about, but I'm also passionate about spending time with my family. I have family all around the world, but my roots go back to Ecuador where I was born.

Things are very different in the world right now, but I'm still looking forward to an amazing new school year!

Teaching Philosophy

Over my college career, I have been shaping my teaching philosophy. And although some aspects are different than what they were my first year of college, this is the core:

I am a teacher that aspires to help my students find their full potential. I want to provide my students with a safe and comfortable learning environment, where they can be themselves. I also want to provide my students that opportunity to make decisions on their own learning. To bring their world into the classroom. I believe that making connections with the outside world and concepts learned in the classroom will help students become better and well aware members of society.

I want my students to know that learning is a gift and that it can achieve wonderful things. I want them to reflect on their mistakes because it will help them find the path that they need in order to be successful adults. I want my students to be passionate and excited about their career paths.
