As we look ahead to the Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A) we listen again to another farming parable. In this week's story, Jesus tells us of a farmer who must make the difficult choice to allow weeds to grow alongside healthy wheat, in the sure knowledge that the wheat will be harvested and stored at the right time. The weeds, however, will be separated and burnt.
Jesus explains that it is the same with us - the virtuous among us will shine like the sun. We're asking the children this week how shiny they are!

St Joseph’s and St Thomas of Canterbury schools have teamed up to celebrate this special occasion with a video montage of “You have called us” which we hope to see as part of the Mass!
Yesterday, we heard from Mr Collins about how there is far more than just hearing the Good News: we are challenged to really listen and to respond. In order to do this, we must have hearts that are ready to believe, hearts that are ready to take action.
Today, Miss Green explores how we can take action in our own lives, using a very famous movie star as our witness!

The parable in this Sunday's Gospel (15th in Ordinary Time, Year A) will be familiar to many of us - the parable of the sower. The particular message we are focusing on this week is the importance of not just hearing the Good News but understanding and responding to the message it contains.
We are asking the children to reflect on the crop they produce and how this demonstrates that they hear God's word with their heart, as well as their ears.
In this week's bedtime story, Mr Edwards is looking for the moon. Can you help him?

Using nature to inspire them, the children have been developing their observational skills and drawing techniques, using lines and shapes to draw landscapes. Look at how carefully they have worked to produce these pieces - well done!

We all have burdens to carry in life. For some, our burdens are almost invisible - others might have no idea what challenges we carry on our journey through life. For others, our burdens are seen by the whole wide world; they can be impossible to hide.
Today, Mrs Edwards explores the different burdens that our witnesses carry and examines the ways their loads have become lighter through their beliefs and actions.

As we look ahead to the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A), Jesus tells us that to walk alongside him - sharing his yoke - is a beautiful way to manage our burdens and lighten our load. We will be asking the children this week to consider what burdens they carry in life; it will be interesting to hear their perspective, especially in these unusual times.

Friday 26th June.MOVIn Year 6, children have been looking at the wonders of mathematics and how it can be applied to create some intriguing pieces of art. This week, children have been creating cardioids - curve-like shapes made by joining different points around a circle which are found by following a rule. There was a lovely air of awe and wonder in the classrooms as children got creative with their use of colour and trying out different rules to create wonderful variation in patterns
Fusion Online - Virtual Youth Group for young people in Years 6-9
Fusion Online is a virtual youth group, via Zoom, for young people in Years 6-9. We specially wanted to invite anyone in Year 6 to join us. For many of our children this is a difficult time and it would be great for them to have a space to share with others their age and older. This group is also a great way to get to know Kevin, the chaplain at St Peter’s and other young people who currently attend St Peter’s and are part of Fusion Online. This week we're going to be exploring the topic: "Uncertain Times: Certain Change", we'd love to see your child there. We are delighted to share this week's Witness Worship from Miss Shail. As we continue to explore the theme of strength, Miss Shail has been thinking about the experiences of Saints Peter & Paul, and what it must have felt like to visit different communities around the Mediterranean. Some were welcoming and others were not! So, what makes a community strong? - Miss Shail has some ideas...
This coming weekend, we celebrate the feast day of Saints Peter & Paul - the princes of the apostles and teachers of the Christian faith. In the Gospel reading this week, we hear Jesus describe Peter as the rock on which the Church was to be built. Peter famously made many mistakes and fell prey to many misunderstandings, and yet, his bold faith was still the foundation on which the early Church was built.
We're asking the children this week to consider the strengths in their own lives. What makes them strong?
