Reading
The comprehension focus this week is identifying theme in a historical fiction text. Students are also learning about synonyms. We will take an assessment on Wednesday.
Language Arts
Students will be learning about regular plural nouns this week. We will take a test on Tuesday to show knowledge of plural nouns.
Words Their Way (Spelling/Phonics)
Students received a new sort last Wednesday and will take our final test before break on Wednesday.
Writing
Students will be using their narrative strategies and applying them to a fun winter writing project. These are due Friday.
Math
We are on topic 3 in math. Our focus is on multiplication strategies for facts 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8. We will take an assessment on Wednesday.
Science
Students will be learning about magnetism and doing a lab to show the strength of magnets. We will be taking a test Thursday morning.
Social Studies
Students will review what they've learned about communities and apply it to a research project on a community. Research projects will be due Friday.
Religion
Students are learning about the different seasons of the liturgical year with a focus on Advent.
