Conclusion

In conclusion, the history that went into making and continued to make The Most Magical Place On Earth is what I believe makes it so magical. From my research, I gathered that before Walt Disney World, there was just a small 100 acre theme park in Southern California named Disneyland. The owner and mind that went into the park, Walt Disney, decided there was a need for a theme park(s) much bigger on the East Coast. With secret fake businesses that the Imagineer team and Walt created, they acquired 27,400 acres of land in Central Florida. The secret finally came out and before they started building, Walt died in December of 1966. Knowing how much Walt wanted this idea to come to life, his brother, Roy Disney, took over and the ground broke on May 30, 1967. After about 4 ½ years, the first park, Magic Kingdom, was opened Oct 1, 1971. What was just going to be named Disney World, ended up being named Walt Disney World to honor the brains behind the whole Disney company. The park took off from the start acquiring 20 million people in the first 2 years. Since then, there has been 3 new parks opened: Epcot (October 1, 1982), Hollywood Studies (May 1, 1989), and Animal Kingdom (April 22, 1998), along with 2 waterparks: Typhoon Lagoon (June 1, 1989), and Blizzard Beach (April 1, 1995). The first hotel to open was the Contemporary Resort on opening day, and around 24 have followed since with new ones being added today. With the result of Walt Disney World being built, there have been 4 other Disney branded parks opened around the world including: Disneyland Paris (April 12, 1992), Tokyo Disneyland (April 15, 1983), Hong Kong Disneyland (September 12, 2005), and Shanghai Disneyland Park (June 16, 2016). There have also been 4 Disney Cruise ships (soon to be 5), a few Disney resorts around the world, and even Disney channels on TV that kids and adults watch daily. Frankly, everyone has heard of or been to Walt Disney World or at least some form of Disney. How different would the amusement park industry or your childhood be without Disney? It has become such a big part of plenty of people’s lives and happiness. It's hard to be mad thinking of a place named “The Most Magical Place On Earth.”
