The Great Emu war was about the Australians fighting the Emus over farmland that was controlled by humans for personal food and jobs. When this war was started it was initiated by a group of farmers that did not like the Emus eating their crops which was taking away their money and their personal food. But it was not just the farmers involved they also dragged the military into the mix to help “exterminate” the emus from their lands
Australia, is the main area of which this affected. Although it did get to New Zealand and some surrounding areas it was mainly based in central and outer Australia with it being started by farmers, and WWI veterans. The main cause of this was the loss of money and crops from the farmers because of the Emus eating their crops. It gave the farmers less output to markets, and buyers because of the Emus eating a portion of their crops.
The Great Emu war was started because about 20,000 emus were occupying the farmland of WWI veterans who would then start the war on the Emus because of the farmland that was destroyed by the Emus. Although the farmers did not directly start the war they started the process of farmers wanting to get rid of the Emus off of their land because they were ruining their form of income by eating their crops and making the land infertile.
The Emus, soldiers, farmers, and WWI veterans are the main people involved in this war because of the events leading to this most day to day people did not get involved in this mainly because it was not affecting them as a whole. Nevertheless, some people did help with the war but were not the main people leading the charge against the emus, and more people who were just following everyone else.
