5th grade ELA upcoming assignments and assessments

Due to MAP testing and midterms, we are not having vocabulary or spelling for the weeks of January 12 and January 19. We will resume with unit 7 on January 25. Grammar will continue as normal. We are currently wrapping up unit 2 with a study of appositives.

There is no mentor sentence this week.

We have started our second novel of the year. It a science fiction book called The Wild Robot. We will take a comprehension assessment approximately every 25 pages. They are always open book.

Our midterm is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20. Please refer to the study guide that was provided in December. We will review in school, but it is expected that students are studying at home.
