OVERALL GOAL
Students will build a collaborative mindset through team work and try to solve real world problems. They will focus on different roles when working in a team and participate in hands-on activities. Students will be introduced to foundational vocabulary commonly used in STEM. They will strengthen their ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills; nurturing their creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills. Students in these grades will refer the Engineering Design Process while participating in problem-based projects and we will begin to make career connections in STEM.
UPDATES
April Week 3:
5th
Students will be using the Oculus headsets and iPads for Minecraft depending on what class they are in.
6th
Students will be using the Makey Makey to create their DDR controller.
7th
Students will be working introduced to drones and do a research project on how they are being used before flying them.
8th
Students will be creating a boat that uses a propeller to move through the water on its own.
Bonus: We will also try to build the viral "circle airplane" and test outside, weather permitting.
