OVERALL GOAL
Students will build a collaborative mindset through team work and try to solve real world problems. They will focus on different roles when working in a team and participate in hands-on activities. Students will be introduced to foundational vocabulary commonly used in STEM. They will strengthen their ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills; nurturing their creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills. Students in these grades will refer the Engineering Design Process while participating in problem-based projects and we will begin to make career connections in STEM.
UPDATES
October Week 4:
5th
Students will build their LEGO cars.
6th
Students will iterate and finalize their design for final testing of the propeller zipline device.
7th
Students will begin designing and building their propeller device.
8th
Students will be working on a storyboard for a silent film production. Students are required to bring in materials and build their props.
