We are excited for our upcoming trip to Catholic High to watch a performance of "Scrooged" on November 19th.
Vocabulary - We are in Unit 4 and the test will be on November 6th.
All 8th grade students are continuing HSPT practice in their ELA class every Wednesday. This means that they will have to bring the HSPT study book they purchased over the summer to class every Wednesday between now and when they take the test. Please be aware that students MUST be spending time at home studying in addition to what we cover during class time. There is a lot of information and we cannot possibly cover everything in the alloted time we have.
8th graders have completed The Outsiders and are now working on a group project related to the novel. A paper was sent home on 10/21 for you to sign if you would like to attend our showcase event.

Dear Eighth Grade Parents and Guardians,
Our eighth grade students have been working diligently reading The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton and creating a large group project inspired by the novel. We are excited to invite you to visit our ELA classrooms on October 27 from 8:12-9:30 to see the students’ hard work, creativity, and learning on display!
To help us prepare for your visit, please RSVP by October 26 so that the school office can have visitor name badges ready for you.

Please report to the main office first to pick up your visitor name badge before proceeding to the ELA classroom.

All middle school teachers have a standardized late work policy designed to promote responsibility
and time management skills that are essential for academic success.
Students who fail to submit homework or practice assignments will receive a zero with no opportunity for makeup credit. This policy encourages consistent daily engagement with course material.
Late submissions will be accepted within one calendar week of the original due date for a maximum of 50% credit. Work submitted after this date will receive a grade of zero. Students must notify teachers via email when submitting late work—Google Classroom messages do not fulfill this requirement.
Missed quizzes and tests due to absence must be completed upon return or within one week for extended absences. It is each student’s responsibility to schedule makeup assessments.
