Over the course of the year, we will study the following topics: regions of North America, various native groups to North America, exploration and settlement, 13 colonies, the Declaration of Independence, and the American Revolution.
Grading will be approximately 30% tests, 30% projects, and 40% homework. Homework grades will be given at the end of each week in PowerSchool, and should be close to 40% of the total grade by the end of the trimester.
Homework will be given every night, with the exception of the day of a test or while working on projects.
At the end of each chapter, we will have a test and a project. The tests are closed book with the exception of the Compelling Question, which can be worked on in class beforehand.
Students will be given time in class to start working on projects, but may need to take them home to finish.
