The prayer that Jesus taught his disciples is the Our Father.
Mary, the greatest saint, is an example for all of Jesus’ disciples.
Jesus’ new commandment asks his followers to love one another as he has loved us.
Processions are prayer walks where people pray and sing, as they walk together.
Saints are all the members of the Church who have died and are happy with God forever in heaven.
God has asked us to protect his gifts of creation.
We are all called by God to love and serve him.
A bishop is one of the leaders of the Church who carries on the work of the apostles.
A pastor is the priest who leads and serves the parish.
The pope is the leader of the Church who continues the work of Saint Peter.
Sacramentals are blessed actions or objects that can prepare you to receive grace in the sacraments.
Some sacramentals and why we use them are:
Holy Actions:
Sign of the Cross: When we make the sign of the cross, it shows we believe in the Blessed Trinity.
Genuflection: When we genuflect, it shows our love and respect for God.
Holy Objects:
The Baptismal Font: It represents new life in Jesus Christ
Holy Water: It reminds us that we belong to God's family
The Crucifix: helps us remember Jesus's sacrifice
Rosary: honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus
Bible: teaches us how to live as God's children
